Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranayake’s visit to the Soviet Union
In 1974, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, the first women Prime Minister in the world undertook a Official Visit to Moscow, with the aim of strengthening relations between the two countries and this is first official visit of any Sri Lankan Leader to the Russian Federation (or Soviet Union).
